What to Expect

Availability

I am a part-time photographer with limited appointment availability Monday through Saturday. As a general rule I don’t prefer to do sessions on Sundays so my family and I can enjoy the rest the Lord has given, but that can be discussed and worked out if it is the only day a session works for you and your situation.

Session Durations

I love to photograph and create in a relaxed environment for both myself and my clients. I want to make sure you can be yourself and enjoy the time we have together so we can truly capture you and your loved ones. My sessions have a time listed so you know how much time to plan for. This will give us time to walk any park we’ll be in for instance. But if we get all the shots we need our time may be shorter.

Session Timing & Locations

Photographing at outdoor locations is the most advantageous when the day is at what is referred to as the “golden hour”, the time from late afternoon toward evening, and provides the best lighting for taking photos. Sessions can be done at other times of the day if the conditions are right, meaning it isn’t raining or we’ll be in direct sunlight. Something really special can come from shooting at a client’s home, it’s so personal and I find for newborn photos it’s a more relaxed and easier atmosphere.  New moms don’t have to take anything with them to go somewhere else! Our time together is important and my goal is to help you get what you want out of it.  We can take straightforward, traditional portraits or we can be creative. Your style is what’s important. We will be a collaborative team.  I welcome your ideas and input, so that we create the photographs you envision.

All locations within 30 minutes of zip code 45424 are no additional charge. Locations outside this area will incur an additional charge. Any venue you choose costing an entrance fee will be your responsibility to pay for yourself and the photographer. I do indoor sessions at local Dayton studios and the rental fees are client’s responsibility. When a studio is decided upon I will make the reservation and add the studio fee to your session fee to be paid to me at the time of your session.

Styling

About outfit selections: It is my desire to shoot beautiful, modest and God-honoring photos that represent a person created in His image. Please select outfits fitting within these parameters: no excessively low cut tops, no mid-drift showing tops, no under garments in view, no excessively short shorts. I do not do any form of “sexy” portraiture (i.e. no boudoir shots).

Payment

Full payment for the photo session is due the day we meet for your session. I will accept cash or check at that time. Please bring a signed copy of the Digital Release and Agreement Form to your session. (Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader.)

Delivery

Images will be delivered in the approximate timeframe listed in your selected session.  If there will be any delay in this process, I will notify you as soon as possible. A sneak peek (2-3 images) will be available within 24-48 hours.  Images will be uploaded for access and personal download. You will receive access information via text or email. Photos will be available for download and stored for 60 days. If you need more time arrangements can be made.

Coordination & Cancellations

I will send out a reminder text the day before your session. I do ask for a confirmation text in return. I understand that in life there are emergencies that occur and a session may need to be rescheduled. I request at least 24 hours’ notice when possible. I reserve the right to determine whether a no-show at a scheduled session will be rescheduled. As weather can play a factor in the success of a session, in inclement weather I will recommend we reschedule your session for another time.
